SILVER: Hester Bateman (English, 1708 - 1794) George III sterling shell form ladle, 1778, "Old English" pattern, shell form bowl with three engravings to handle terminal, wolf in profile with front paw raised, castle, and crown with two arms in armor raised overhead holding spear, bird to handle, hallmarked verso with lion passant, Leopard's head crowned, "c" mark (London date letter for 1778), and "H B" in script (maker's mark for Hester Bateman, entered 1761), wear consistent with age and useincluding slight imperfections to handle, 12 1/2" l. (5.1 ozt.) [PROVENANCE: Purchased from William Walter, Chancery Lane, London. W.
