SILVER: Attributed to Hester Bateman (English, 1708 - 1794) George III sterling pap boat, 1780, conventional teardrop form with molded edge and slightly in-turned rim at largest part of bowl, hallmarks with areas of heavy wear verso: lion passant, Leopard's head crowned, "e" mark (London date letter for 1780), and partial mark assumed to be the top of "H B" in script (maker's mark for Hester Bateman, entered 1761), wear consistent with age and use, 1 5/8" h. x 3" w. x 5" l. (weight: 1.95 ozt.)
