SILVER: Matthew Boulton (English, 1728 - 1809), pair of Georgian Old Sheffield Plate Wine Coolers, c. 1809, campagna form with gadrooned and foliate borders, each two-handled campagna form with foliate gadrooned rim, chased coat of arms decoration of arm upraised arm holding sword with pierced head, above etched Scottish Clan of Matheson motto in ribbon: "Fac et Spera" (Do and Hope), flanking openwork handles with acanthus terminals, stepped circular base, interior fitted with detachable liner and rim, marked on bottom with double sunbursts, wear consistent with age and use including loss of silver to scattered edges, small dents and/ or bends, etc., 10 1/8" h. x , 10" w. (handle to handle) x 9 1/2" d.
