SILVER: Matthew Boulton (English, 1728 - 1809) George III Old Sheffield plate wax jack, c. 1785, lyre form on circular base, reeded border, ring handle and thumb plate, coiled wax taper supported on a central horizontal screw bar, conical snuffer mounts to side, hallmarks to base include single star/ sun mark and an outlined "X" or cross, wear consistent with age and use including imperfections and small damages to finish, snuffer missing chain, etc., 5 1/4" h. x 3 3/4" diam.
