Michiel Theobald Gloeckner (German-American, 1915-1989) oil on canvas depicting stylized cityscape with polychrome buildings, signed "Theobold" LR, framed with black mat, minor depressions in canvas, minor areas of craquelure, damages to frame, not examined out of frame, ss: 11 1/2" h. x 8 3/7" w. [Gloeckner was born in Dresden, Germany but moved to NY after WWII. The artist had a home and studio in West Cornwall, CT. He studied painting under Otto Dix (German, 1891-1969) and was also influenced by Paul Klee (Swiss-German, 1879-1940). Michiel Gloeckner exhibited works in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Hartford.]
