Michiel Theobald Gloeckner (German-American, 1915-1989) two watercolors on paper, the first "White Walkes through 84th St West NY May 70," title inscribed in pencil along lower margin, possible fading or areas of discoloration, wear to edges and corners, 24" h. x 18" w.; the other a stylized tropical scene with boat at bottom, polychrome blocks with cruciform, and the letters "SM," areas of foxing, wear and losses to edges, 18" h. x 24" w., both works in protective acetate sleeves. [Gloeckner was born in Dresden, Germany but moved to NY after WWII. The artist had a home and studio in West Cornwall, CT. He studied painting under Otto Dix (German, 1891-1969) and was also influenced by Paul Klee (Swiss-German, 1879-1940). Michiel Gloeckner exhibited works in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Hartford.]
