Michiel Theobald Gloeckner (German-American, 1915-1989) gouache on black paper, 1982, monogram and date LR, abstract composition with polychrome chapes within white linear boundaries, framed and matted behind glass, expected light wear, major damages to frame, not examined out of frame, ss: 16 1/4" h. x 12 1/4" w. [Gloeckner was born in Dresden, Germany but moved to NY after WWII. The artist had a home and studio in West Cornwall, CT. He studied painting under Otto Dix (German, 1891-1969) and was also influenced by Paul Klee (Swiss-German, 1879-1940). Michiel Gloeckner exhibited works in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Hartford.]
