1798 English sampler by Sarah Constable, silk on wool, Sarah Constable used very fine cross stitches to work her verses, "Hymn to Benevolence," and the colorful floral and architectural motifs which surround it, flowering vine border, in modern frame, very good condition with break in wool ground fabric on center of right side and scattered minor insect holes, not examined out of frame, ss: 14 7/8" h. x 11 7/8" w.; frame: 16 7/8" h. x 14" w.
