American patent model braiding machine, based on the c. 1862 William Tunstill model (patent filed at U.S. Patent Office 19 August 1862, Letters Patent No. 36,249, Patterson, NJ), painted metal and wooden structure, three spools of yarn feed into centrally located braiding spool above, replaced yarn on spools, expected surface wear, with 19th C. patent label written in calligraphy, 13 1/2" h. x 12 1/8" w. x 11 5/8" d.
