19th C. oil on artist board, depicts farmer pushing hay cart pulled by brown workhorse, meadow and small pond in foreground, large white château on horizon, paper label verso with inscriptions, possibly artist signature, wear consistent with age and use including toning, several spider webs of craquelure from impact, gold paint on LR from repainting of frame, etc., in molded and repainted frame with minor losses, not examined out of frame, ss: 6 1/2" h. x 8 1/2" w.; frame size: 13" x 15".
