Treccini" or similar in lower right corner, depicts a group of seven women examining the contents of a newly arrived crate of valuables including jewelry and fine fabrics, possibly for a wedding, in an ornately gilded and molded frame with loss and sold as is, painting with loss and inpainting throughout, section with damage and loss at upper left, sold as is, ss: 29" h. x 36" w., gilt frame 7". [VERBAL PROVENANCE: Owned by descent through a family with European ancestry including Czechoslovakian and an early 20th C. Polish concert pianist, family emigrated to Paraguay, South America in 1938 and members of the family eventually settled in the United States in 1976.]
