POTTERY: American Bennington Pottery signed flint enamel teapot and spitoon, c. 1849, Rockingham glaze, both with impressed maker's mark to base: tall teapot with removable domed cover over faceted sides on small foot, enamel glaze accents of deep orange and black, impressed mark to base heavily repaired base, small nicks to inner rim of cover, 13" h. [Literature: See Bennington Pottery and Porcelain by Barrett, plate 136.]; and a circular spitoon with lobed sides and slightly tapered waist, light Rockingham glaze with enamel accents of green and orange, good impressed mark to base, 9" diam., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use.
