POTTERY: American Bennington-type pottery, two book flasks including a flint enamel "Bennington Battle Book Flask" likely by Lyman, Fenton & Co., Bennington, VT, c. 1849-1858, details include: book flask with impressed title to spine "BENNINGTON BATTLE", otherwise unmarked, mottled brown Rockingham glaze with green and orange enamel accents, one-quart size, beading around spout, chip to foot on spine, 7" h. [Literature: Barret's "Bennington Pottery", pl. 411 B.]; and a similar larger book flask, Rockingham glaze, unmarked, slightly concave cover, raised details to spine and pages, small scattered chips to base and edges, 7 1/8" h., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as found.
