Description:
A group of twelve 19th C. Madrasi Indian occupational figurines/dolls, they appear to be composition and wood with metal rod frames and are mounted on square terra cotta bases, each figure is dressed in traditional Indian attire suitable to his occupation; eleven of the thirteen figures have a small paper sewn to his garments describing such as "Madrasi/Syce or/Horsekeeper", "Madrasi/Beesti or Water carrier", "Madrasi/Baboo or/Man some education", etc., all dolls are as is with age checks, loss, some missing pieces, etc.
