Description:

After Kitagawa Utamaro (Japanese, d. 1806), two color woodblock prints, recarved, 20th C. impressions, including: "Hairdresser" from the series "Twelve Types of Women's Handicraft" (Asano and Clark 1995 #312), originally published by Jakurindo c. 1798-99; and "Three Beauties of the Present Day: Tomimoto Toyohina, Naniwaya Kita, and Takashima Hisa," (Asano and Clark 1995 #105), originally published by Tsutaya Juzaburo (Koshodo) in 1793, both matted and framed under glass, the first with some mat burn, oban sheet sizes.
