Alberto Pasini (Italian, 1826 - 1899), "Bargaining for Pots", oil on canvas, possibly a view in Istanbul, market scene, signed lower right, gilt frame, loss to frame, artist name plate on front, difficult to see horizontal slice (see close up) at center of canvas, approximately 2 1/2" long, old varnish, etc., ss: 8 1/4" h. x 6 1/4" w. [PROVENANCE: owned by banker Alexander De Witt ( b. 1854 of Worcester, MA) who married Caroline Murdock in 1880. (No children) gifted to friend, inherited by his son, also of Worcester.
