American 19th C. slant lid desk, interior with six pigeon holes and piecrust valance over seven short drawers of varying length, prospect door opens to reveal two small drawers, slant lid with breadboard ends and inlaid diamond escutcheon, case with four graduated drawers featuring crotch veneer fronts, brass batwing pulls and inlaid diamond escutcheons, carved column sides with reeding, molded base raised on straight bracket feet, board back has old paper label tag mounted near top which reads "A. Castleman & Co., Cabinet Making and Upholstering/ 2433 18th St. N. W., Washington D.C./ Phone Col. 4542" along with illegible pencil inscription, heavy wear and damages throughout including large cracks where columns meet sides, cracks to lid, checking, missing slide pull, loose joints, past repairs, etc., sold as found, 43" h. x 40" w. x 18" d.
