ASIAN, five framed pieces by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760-1849), ten illustrated book pages total (ehon) excised from "Hokusai Sketchbook" or "Random Drawings of Hokusai" (Hokusai Manga): first depicting figures engaged in daily activities like reading, undressing, playing samisen, knitting on a loom, and plowing, ink stain UC; second depicting agricultural tasks; third depicting seated figures doing hand work and semi-nude figures exercising under water; fourth depicting fourteen figures opening objects including fans, umbrellas, boxes, scrolls, and bolts of cloth, large diagonal crease; and fifth contains wraps from a Hokusai Manga volume, Japanese calligraphy with several red ink chop marks, right page blurred or smudged, tiny holes, many with deterioration and holes LC, some wrinkling throughout, all matted and framed behind glass, none examined out of frames, four measure ss: 7 1/4" h. x 10 1/4" w., calligraphy pages measure ss: 8 1/4" h. x 12 1/4" w.
