ASIAN, four Japanese Edo period woodblock prints, all oban size and matted under glass in matching ebonized frames: two prints from triptych possibly done by Yoshitora (active c. 1850-80), depicting gorgeously dressed all-female audience watching theatrical performance with winged female performers; female figure in blue robes with white honeycomb pattern and red obi standing in clouds, signed Toyokuni but probably by Kunisada, guarantee label from Uchida Woodblock Printing Co., Ltd., Kyoto, Japan signed by manager Y. Yamagami verso; and noblewoman with smaller figure, possibly servant, signed Kunisada, none examined out of frames, ss: 13 3/4" h. x 9 1/4" w., toning, light stains, and paper wavering, expected wear to frames.
