ASIAN: Hiroshige and Kunisada, two woodblock prints, details include: first, a collaborative print by Utagawa Hiroshige I (Japanese, 1797–1858) and Kunisada (Toyokuni III) (Japanese, 1786–1864), "The Okina-an Restaurant (Actor Ichimura Uzaemon XII as) Okina in Shikisanbasô", from the series "Famous Restaurants of the Eastern Capital", published by Fujiokaya Keijiro (Shorindo), block cut by Koizumi Minokichi (Hori Mino), chop marks, hand-written notes across back of print in japanese, depicts and actor with fan in hand and various landscape cameos in background, trimmed, no margins, worm holes on left edges, 14 1/2" h. x 9 7/8"; second, Kunisada (Toyokuni III), unknown title, c. 1840s, attributed to the series "the Six Immortal Poets" on label, chop marks, published by Yamamotoya Heikichi (c. 1812-1896), depicts actor with scowl on face in ornate patterned garment and sword across waist, fold crease across horizontal center, 14 1/8" h. x 9 3/4" w.; unframed in portfolios, sold as is.
