ASIAN: Toyohara Kunichika (Japanese, 1835-1900), woodblock print triptych, kabuki scene depicting three actors from right to left: Ichikawa Danjuro IX (1838-1903), Iwai Shijaku (dressed as woman), and Ichikawa Gado, all in sumptuously patterned kimonos against wine red background with towering bearded Iris, numerous cartouches throughout including two impressions of artist's signature, triptych matted and framed under glass, wear consistent with age including mat burn and minor scattered spots of foxing, assumed trimmed margins due to size of mat dividers, undulation/ waving of paper suggests prints are hinged at top and not laid down, sold as is, sight seen size of single print: 9 3/8" h. x 6 1/2" w.; frame: 13" h. x 24" w.
