Japanese prints: first by Toyohara Kunichika (Japanese, 1835-1900), woodblock print triptych, kabuki scene depicting three actors from right to left: Ichikawa Danjuro IX (1838-1903), Iwai Shijaku (dressed as woman), and Ichikawa Gado, all in sumptuously patterned kimonos against wine red background, numerous cartouches throughout including two impressions of artist's signature, light wrinkling of paper, ss: 13 7/8" h. x 27 5/8" w.; along with Kazutoshi Sugiura (Japanese, b. 1938), color serigraph depicting red peony and yellow butterfly on gold-speckled ground, ed. 33/100, pencil signed and seal mark LR, with artist biography compiled by Gallery Import, Lakeville, CT attached verso, isolated foxing UL corner, ss: 9" h. x 13 1/4" w., both matted and framed behind glass, neither examined out of frames.
