ASIAN: Two color woodblock prints: Utagawa Hirokage (Japanese, active 1855-1865), "Listening to Crickets at Dokan-yama", print #20 from the series "Comical Views of Famous Places in Edo", published by Tsujiokaya Bunsuke, 1859, depicts four men enjoying nocturnal picnic, signed "Hirokage ga" LR, ss: 13 1/4" h. x 9" w.; along with Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865), "Pillar Print", possibly from the series "Five Seasonal Festivals", published by Aritaya Seiemon ca. 1844/5, signed "Kochoro Kunisada ga" UL, with censor's seal, heavily stained, some punctures, tears, and wrinkles, ss: 25 1/2" h. x 4 1/4" w., both with toning and some foxing, matted and framed under glass, not examined out of frame, [De-accessioned from a Connecticut Museum]
