ASIAN: Two Imari porcelain bowls, Japanese, late 19th/early 20th C., details include: the first octagonal with central decoration of still life featuring vase, bonsai and prunus surrounded by alternating panels featuring flowering trees and stylized leaves inside and out, base with an apocryphal Chinese Chenghua reign mark, 4 1/4" h. x 11" diam.; the second with central decoration of a crane and folding screen, round and on small foot, applied label verso reads "Imari porcelain bowl/ with design of Manchurian crane/ and folding screen/ in gold, enamels and underglaze blue/ Japan, Meiji period (1868 - 1912)", 3" h. x 9 3/4" diam., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use including rubbing of gilt rim. [PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Robert Wilson of Washington D.C. who resided in Japan in the 1950's.]
