ASIAN: Two Japanese woodblock prints: first probably a 19th C. restrike of a middle-to-late 18th C. print, possibly a parody of the Akuta River episode (Akutagawa) from the Tales of Ise (Ise monogatari), showing man carrying woman on shoulder, no visible signature, some wormage, fading, stains, and toning, ss: 9" h. x 12 1/2" w. (oban/aiban yoko-e); second probably 19th C. black and white image (sumizuri-e), depicting boaters on lake with mountains in the distance, unsigned, toning, minor wormage, ss: 10" h. x 7" w. (chuban), both matted and framed under glass, neither examined out of frame. [De-accessioned from a Connecticut Museum]
