Banjo clock with charioteer eglomise panel, New England, C. 1825, mahogany case with brass dial bezel, period, unsigned, heavy iron dial is untouched, cast brass side arms (replaced), gilt waist and box door with gilt roping above gilt bracket (possible replacement), movement has typical diagonal mounting holes but is now mounted by two machine screws from the back into the center of the rear plate, old diagonal holes in back are filled, weight had broken hook is now held and hung by iron frame, interior and baffle painted in old red, carved and gilt wooden eagle finial appears original, waist and box glasses appear original with probable re-paint, mahogany case is stamped "WAM" in numerous places and "34 W" on the box bottom, back board is one piece pine, label to interior from Hennor Jewelers and Clockmakers, metal plate at bottom with pencil inscription stating clock was received in 1985, unknown working condition, wear consistent with age and use, including loss and damage to reverse paintings, scattered scratches to wood finish, etc.
