Brown taffeta dress, mid-19th C., museum provenance, three pieces, bodice, skirt and overskirt, details include: bodice with high neck, long sleeves, natural waist, center front button closure with kook and eye placket inside at stomach level, brown velvet ribbon trim around skirts and cuffs; skirt with ruffle trim, front left closure, front right pocket, cartridge pleats to back; overskirt or overdrape wraps around back and fastens at front with hook and eye, buttons trim the tucks on each side and down the center back, all pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as found, 13" from armpit to armpit, 23" diam. waist.
