Chippendale form two-piece secretary desk, painted red, 19th C. elements with alterations, upper cabinet with two side by side doors concealing three interior shelves over two short drawers, lower case consists of slant lid desk with three open pigeonholes and five short interior drawers concealed by lid over three graduated long drawers, chalk inscription on top of baseboard of bottom drawer, comes with key, original auction tag from Henry A. Berman & Sons, Worchester, MA attached, possibly repaired or replaced inner desk drawers, several replaced brasses, later paint, patched and discolored drawers, portion of front left foot detached but included, expected surface wear including scratches, checking, and splitting, upper case measures 35 1/4" h. x 33 3/4" w. x 8 3/8" d.; lower case measures 38 1/2" h. x 32 3/4" w. x 18" d.
