Cornelia Cowles Vetter (Connecticut, 1881-1959), "Cuban Boy", oil on relined canvas, young man in large dark coat, flat brimmed hat, and deep red shawl looks at the viewer with a cigarette in one hand, his gaze stern but reassuring, Benton Museum label verso, accompanied by early fall 1989 solo exhibition booklet from The Connecticut Gallery, where this painting appears on page 14, fig. 9, not examined out of frame, wear consistent with age, including relining, areas of craquelure, some damages to frame, etc., ss: 29 1/2" h. x 24 1/2" w.
