Cornell Capa (Hungarian-American, 1918-2008), three loose black and white photographs from the "Attica, 1973" series, four photographs total: inmates playing cards through bars of cells; studying or reading in rooms; and cell neighbors, this last with paper caption affixed verso giving instruction on when to publish, all titled and signed by artist in pen, many stamped verso "Cornell Capa, © Magnum Photos", some with photo studio company name crossed out, some bent corners or wrinkles, majority of photographs measure 8 3/4" x 12 7/8"; as well as 6 1/2" h. x 8 1/2" w. black and white matted photograph of elderly male hand by D. D'Eustacio, 1989, pencil inscribed 3/10. [From the Samuel Magdoff Collection. After serving as an Army captain during WWII, Magdoff pioneered connecting art and animation technology as President of Elektra Films in New York. He was President of the Film Producers Association of New York, and a member of the Art Directors Club. Magdoff went on to be the Associate Dean of Continuing Education at the Parsons School of Design. He died in 2006 at the age of 90.]
