Early American partially glazed slip-decorated redware, two pieces, along with autographed early 20th C. book on pottery: oblong vegetable serving dish with slightly canted sides, rich molasses colored ground with flowering vine decoration in white slip, initials "RLW" appear underside base, 16" w.; divided oblong serving dish, dark brown ground decorated with stylized lines and spirals in white slip, 16" w., expected wear including minor isolated glaze flakes or rim chips; along with hardcover book by John Spargo, "Early American Pottery and China", The Century Co., NY, 1926, flyleaf pen inscribed "Ruth Loring Whitman, 1927", in which author features photograph of actual redware pieces.
