Early photography, four gutta-percha cases, 19th C., an early thermoplastic made from tree sap imported from Malay in the 19th century, one with ambrotype of younger couple, one with remnants of double ambrotype portrait, other two empty, cases include: largest of unusual size with inset decoration and titled "The Holy Family" to both sides, loose hinge and interior metal liners, overall: 6 1/4" h. x 5" w.; second case features shield in front of American flags and eagle with banner "The Union And Constitution" to cover, ambrotype of couple inside, overall: 3 3/4" h. x 3 1/4" w.; third case features an elaborate basket of fruit with exotic pineapple at center to both sides, interior paper label reads "Holmes, Booth & Haydens/ Daguerreotype/ Photographic/ and/ Ambrotype Goods/ of every description", overall: 5" h. x 4" w.; and last the smallest case with geometric beaded decoration, shattered ambrotype to interior, overall: 4" h. x 3 1/2" w.
