Earthenware baluster form molasses jug, ruddy brown glaze with gilt undercoat, tooled geometric and floral design at shoulder, applied molded handle characteristic of Boscawen, New Hampshire pottery, specifically the Burpee Kiln in New Hampshire, some cracks, paint loss exposing gilt, 12 1/4" h., 5 1/2" dia. at base [Kiln established by Jeremiah Burpee in 1804] [De-accessioned from a Connecticut Museum]
