Five mortars and two pestles, ceramic, stone or brass, details include: Apothecary stoneware mortar and pestle by Thomas Maddocks & Sons, Trenton, New Jersey, late 19th C., c. 1882, large bowl with spout to rim, stamped with two Maker's marks on foot along with impressed "6", pestle with turned wooden handle, stoneware base loose to handle, both with heavy wear consistent with age and use, bowl: 7" h. x 11 3/4" diam.; two large stone mortars/ bowls, possibly French, each with four lobed ears/ handles to rim including one with incised four use as spout, tapered round body, unknown age or origin, wear consistent with age and use including loss to high areas/ edges, largest:10 1/4" h. x 17 3/4" diam.; vintage brass mortar and pestle, flanking knob handles, linear decoration, impressed "6" to foot, scratches and wear to surface, mortar: 5 3/4" h.; and smaller stone disc form mortar with raised and rounded rim, applied felt base, 8 1/4" diam., all pieces sold as found.
