Four Battersea / snuff boxes, 19th C., including: small cobalt ground Battersea box, depicting plaque inscribed "A Mother's Gift" leaning against a jug, damages and loss to sides, 1 3/8" l.; Battersea box with portrait of John Paul Jones (Scottish/American, 1747-1792) on lid, on green ground, inscribed "Paul Jones" above portrait; Battersea box with portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (English, 1758-1805) on lid, on pink ground, inscribed "Nelson" above portrait; round brass snuff / trinket box depicting Commodore Stephen Decatur (American, 1779-1820), inscribed below portrait "Commodore Decatur, 1816", small dents, 2" diam.; all with wear consistent with age and use, sold as-is.
