French Faience Criel-ware porcelain plates, fourteen pieces, French, late 19th - early 20th C., details include: five dessert plates with transfer decoration of National Costumes ("Costumes Nationaux'), imprinted "Ch Hamlet" below image, on sky blue ground, the arms of the city of Montereau on border, some flea bites/ minor surface loss to edges, 7 3/4" diam.; and nine with hand colored decoration over black transferware, floral and foliate borders, each with different genre scene, some with military figures, many with impressed maker's marks verso, some with remnants of glaze marks, wear consistent with age and use including rubbing of finish, surface flakes, etc., sold as is, 8 1/4" diam.
