Description:

Greenish tan silk taffeta dress, 19th C., museum provenance, two pieces, bodice and skirt, details include: bodice with high neck, long sleeves, small peplum, boning in front and sides, trim of striped taffeta on button plackard, peplum and forming a cuff ruffle, center front buttoning, buttons are black faceted beads held on with a tiny ring of metal through a slit in the fabric, bow on the peplum in back, label in sleeve "Bonded #27", waist is 28" diam., 15 1/2" from armpit to armpit, ; greenish tan taffeta skirt with waist band and ruffle trim of striped taffeta, slight train, hem lined with haircloth or some stiffening fabric, left side opening, tiny cartridge pleats in back, 26" diam. waist, both pieces with wear consistent with age and use including expected damages, sold as found.
