+HISTORICAL BLUE STAFFORDSHIRE: Six "Landing of General Lafayette" transferware serving pieces by James and Ralph Clews, Burslem, England, 1815-1834, (full title: "Landing of General Lafayette at Castle Garden, New York, 16 August 1824"), plates with impressed maker's mark impressed on base, shaker/ pepper pot and bowl unmarked, all with wear consistent with age and use, details include: four plates of graduated size, scattered roughness/ flea bites and wear to edges and base, largest: 7 5/8" diam., smallest: 4 1/4" diam.; small round bowl on foot, staining and discoloration to center, flakes to rim, 2 3/4" h. x 5 1/8" diam.; and a pepper pot, firing imperfection to shoulder, small flakes to top, etc., 4 3/4" h., all pieces sold as is.
