HISTORICAL BLUE STAFFORDSHIRE: Two "Landing of General Lafayette" transferware serving pieces by James and Ralph Clews, Burslem, England, 1815-1834, (full title: "Landing of General Lafayette at Castle Garden, New York, 16 August 1824"), both with impressed maker's mark on base and wear consistent with age and use, details include: covered sauce dish with cover and liner (additional eagle-head ladle not Lafayette pattern), scattered small chips and roughness to edges and high areas, tureen: 5 1/4" h. x 8 1/2" l., liner: 9 5/8" l.; and a pedestal square bowl/ dish, scattered flea bites and wear to rim, 1/4" flake to center of bowl; small chips to base of foot, etc., 4 3/4" h. x 10" w. x 9 1/2" l.
