Description: House of Worth satin dress with green sash, c. 1890's, museum provenance, two pieces, bodice and skirt, details include: white satin bodice with green satin sash and tassels of pearls, Worth label sewn to waist, low and wide neckline with leg-o-mutton sleeves, large pointy lace collar and cuffs, drawstring in neckline, fully boned bodice, long peplum with weights in the ends, front lace-up closure with a panel from the left that closes over the laces with hooks and eyes, with second panel from the right that closes over the first with hooks and eyes, sash is boned and closes over it also with hooks and eyes, sleeves are slashed with gauze inserts, toning of lace, areas of damage/ shattering to interior lining, detached pearl tassell included, size when laying flat: 17" from armpit to armpit, 11" across waist; white satin skirt with train, split skirt front with attached forepart, center back closure, with pocket in the center back, heavily damaged with splits to lining and shattering of interior, 24" diam. waist., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as is. [PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned to benefit the Slater Memorial Museum's acquisition fund.]
