Waddington (active Mid-19th C.), "Girl with Yellow Ribbon", 1859, oil on canvas, depicts lovely young woman in deep thought while arranging her hair, finely dressed in light blue silk bodice and bustled skirt, toned blue background, signed and dated in lower right corner, contained in an ornate molded and gilded frame with age cracking and scattered surface loss, reverse with inscription "J. Waddington" on stretcher bar, old paper label reading "From/ W. S. TAYLOR,/ 99 & 101 West Street,/ SHEFFIELD", along with a red wax seal to canvas featuring an impressed flower/ rose, wear consistent with age including minor toning, small patch to canvas verso measuring 1 1/2" sq., some minor loss from rubbing where canvas meets frame, etc., ss: 23 5/8" h. x 19 5/8" w.
