+Julien Dupre (French 1851 - 1910), "An Idle Moment", oil on canvas, pastoral scene, a girl leans against a fence with cattle beyond, signed lower left, ornate gilt frame, scattered losses on frame, artist name plate on front, inscription verso "J'ai fait ce tableau pour Monsieur Jackson, Julien Dupre" which translates to "I made this painting for Mr. Jackson", along with a Worcester Art Museum label verso, other inscriptions, wear consistent with age, not examined out of frame, ss: 17 3/4" h. x 14 1/2" w. [PROVENANCE: owned by banker Alexander De Witt ( b. 1854 of Worcester, MA) who married Caroline Murdock in 1880. (No children) gifted to friend, inherited by his son, also of Worcester.
