for the Cottman family of Baltimore, MD and depicting members of the Cottman family engaged in various daily activities; the foot of the bowl depicts the Marine Observatory in Baltimore Harbor (built 1797-1885, rebuilt 1887, collapsed 1902); the underplate with grapes, leaves and flowers, engraved "To my dear cousin J. Hough Cottman as a memorial of my affection for him William A. Fisher 1901", the under rim of the foot of the punch bowl is likewise engraved; bowl measures 7 1/5" h.
