American mantel clock, mahogany veneer, beveled rectangular case with gilt inner filet and ebonized trim, lower portion of glass door reverse painted with fearsome eagle clutching flag in its talons, cardboard dial painted with Roman numerals, works engraved, "Pat. Feb. 8 1878" interior of case, comes with pendulum and winding mechanism, detached wooden block included, expected surface wear including isolated veneer and paint loss, 13 1/8" h. x 9 1/4" w. x 4 1/2" d.
