Late 19th/early 20th C. bookcase desk, appears to be a marriage of two case pieces not originally paired, mahogany and mahogany veneer, scrolled broken arch pediment with pierced fretwork of laurel fronds supporting central urn and flame finial, above bookcase with three shelves and two glazed doors with mullions, restored base with slant lid desk containing eight small drawers, four pigeon holes, single cabinet door, and two vertical file drawers, above two cabinet doors opening to two sliding shelves suitable for storage of architectural plans, drawings, or linens, slant lid detached, some checking and splitting, damage near slant lid desk hinges, expected wear including surface loss, missing oval-shaped brass escutcheon to right hand cabinet door of upper case, 8' 3" h. x 46 1/4" w. x 22" d.
