Description:

Man's costume, late 19th/ early 20th C., museum provenance, two pieces, handkerchief and Zouaves-type trousers, details include: man's trousers, bright blue wool with gold braid at pockets, likely Algerian or Syrian; and a triangular handkerchief with a hook and eye closure near corners, Swedish type red cotton print, small hole to one side, 26 1/4" w., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as found. [PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned to benefit the Slater Memorial Museum's acquisition fund.]
