MAPS, two early pieces: "Comitatus Burgundiae ou la Franche Comté", attributed to I[J]oannis Janson or Sanson, published in Amsterdam, dated 1630, depicting northeastern region of modern day France, located between Helvetica (Switzerland) and Lorraine, Champagne, and Bourgogne to the south, hand-colored details including treatment of crest UL, cartouche containing title LR, and scale UR as well as territorial boundaries, cities, and towns, central fold line/crease, toning, ss: 17 3/4" h. x 22 1/4" w.; along with "Representation la plus nouvelle et exacte de l'ile Martinique, la premiere des Iles de l'Amerique Antilles…", engraved after Matthieu Seutter, published in Augsbourg, c. 1730, partially colored representation of Caribbean island with topographical details, important landmarks also noted, fanciful depiction of Neptune riding chariot, Mercury arriving on island, and first native/settler interactions LL, central crease, some wrinkles, toning, cracked glass and damaged frame corner, ss: 19 7/8" h. x 22 3/8" w., both framed behind glass, neither examined out of frames.
