Michiel Theobald Gloeckner (German-American, 1915-1989) "Small Village," 1965, gouache on black paper, monogrammed LR, geometric composition depicting abstracted streets and houses, framed and matted behind glass, not examined out of frame, ss: 6" h. x 6" w. [Gloeckner was born in Dresden, Germany but moved to NY after WWII. The artist had a home and studio in West Cornwall, CT. He studied painting under Otto Dix (German, 1891-1969) and was also influenced by Paul Klee (Swiss-German, 1879-1940). Michiel Gloeckner exhibited works in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Hartford.]
