Mid-19th C. dress of lavender tattersall check pattern silk, museum provenance, long wide sleeves tapering to waist, high neck, natural waistline, boning on front to close, lacing placard at center front, hook and eye closure with decorative buttons, waistband hooks on front left side, gold tassels, lavender velvet ribbon and self-fabric decorate across the breast, cuffs and hem, pocket on right side, knife pleats to front and sides, tiny cartridge pleats in center back, sides of bodice taken in at least two inches on each side, wear consistent with age and use, sold as found, approximate measurements: Bust: 35"; Waist: 28"; Hips: 36"; Length from waist: 42" in back, 39" in front.
