MINIATURES: Two women, one on oval support, an engraving after a painting of Elizabeth Pepys, 1666, by John Hayls (now destroyed), with pearl strands in her hair, off shoulder gown, in metal bezel, pencil inscription verso "ENG. Mrs. Elizabeth Pepys wife of Samuel Pepys English Diarist 17th C.", in a folding locket possibly of horn, missing a front decoration as indicated by two holes, ss: 1 1/4" h. x 3/4" w.; the second on oval support, long brown hair, blue hair band, full length vertical crack, in gilt wood frame, loose in frame, ss: 1 3/4" h. x 1 1/2" w.
